Tire 8″ (Colt, Freedom, T78, T8)

(7 customer reviews)

Tire 8″ for Colt and Freedom, T78, T8 – we don’t have slick in stock for these models anymore.

Recommended air tire pressure is 75-85 psi.

Very important to check the air pressure in the inflatable tires. Check it regularly, every 2 weeks. Use a pump with a reliable pressure gauge. Low pressure in the tires is the major cause of loss of performance either on body powered or electric versions.

Have been burning up the linear park paths with these for more than a month now. Love ’em. They are harder to put on the hub, but as Fred W. suggests, heat them up in the sun and use spray silicon or Teflon to pull over the hub wall. Beware, the thick rubber valve stem seat can get under the bead and create an awful bump. Push the stem in a bit while inflating to avoid that; they round up nicely. They are only 4 ounces heavier than the 12 oz. standard tire, and seem to have at least twice the tread depth. The extra weight doesn’t slow me down. Currently have them on both of my body-powered Trikkes.

    Great service and experience.

Been using these all around on my T8 for some time. Last much longer than the standards. No less performance, still get near 12 mph round trips in summer. Some day I’ll break that barrier!

Probably commented before – Best tires for T-78 and T-8. Last about 1000 miles. It’s not about “grip”, but smoothness = less tread friction and thicker tread.

Got 500 – 750 miles out of the last set riding about 10 mph at 90+ psi on my Trikke T8. Still the best place to buy them from!
